PRESS RELEASE Public Distribution Scheme public grievance redressal camp to be held on 08.08.2026 in all 19 zones in Chennai The Government has announced that a public grievance redressal camp will be held every month in every zone across Tamil Nadu, so that citizens can easily avail the benefits of the Public Distribution Scheme. Accordingly, the monthly Public Distribution Scheme public grievance redressal camp for August 2026 will be held on Saturday, 08.08.2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., at the offices of the 19 Zonal Assistant Commissioners of the Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department in Chennai. Services relating to the Public Distribution Scheme, including addition of names, deletion of names, change of address, and registration/change of mobile number in family cards, will be carried out. In addition, an authorisation certificate will be issued to senior citizens and others who are unable to visit Fair Price Shops in person to collect goods. If members of the public have any complaints regarding the functioning of Public Distribution Shops, or regarding deficiencies in goods or services sold in the private market, they may report them at this camp, and appropriate action will be taken to resolve the grievances promptly. As services are carried out only through an OTP (One-Time Password) sent to the registered mobile number, family cardholders are requested to contact the zonal office along with their registered mobile phone.
