PRESS RELEASE Home delivery of Public Distribution Scheme goods to the elderly and differently-abled on August 4, 5 and 6 Press note by Thiru Va. Babu, Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chennai Zone: Under the scheme of delivering Public Distribution Scheme goods to the homes of the elderly and differently-abled, goods are being delivered to the residences of persons above 65 years of age and differently-abled persons. In this regard, salespersons of 1,346 Fair Price Shops functioning under the Cooperative Department in 19 zones in Chennai — Avadi, Ambattur, Anna Nagar, Chidambaram Nagar, Kolathur, Perambur, R.K. Nagar, Royapuram, Tiruvottiyur, Villivakkam, Ayiram Vilakku, Vepery, Mylapore, Mambalam, T. Nagar, Thoraipakkam, Rangarayil, Tambaram and Madhuravoyal — have been directed to deliver essential commodities to homes on 4th, 5th and 6th August. Therefore, elderly persons and differently-abled persons who benefit under this scheme are requested to make use of this facility without fail.
