Joseph Vijay congratulating Thiru Praveen Chithravel and Thiru Selva Prabhu, winners of medals in the men's triple jump event at the Commonwealth Games I extend my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to Thiru Praveen Chithravel of Tiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu, who won the silver medal in the men's triple jump event, and to Thiru Selva Prabhu of Madurai district, who won the bronze medal, at the ongoing 23rd Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. In recognition of these athletes' achievements, the Government of Tamil Nadu will present high cash incentives — Rs.30 lakh to Thiru Praveen Chithravel, the silver medal winner, and Rs.20 lakh to Thiru Selva Prabhu, the bronze medal winner. It is a matter of great joy that two sportspersons from Tamil Nadu have won medals in the same event. That both these athletes stayed and trained systematically at the sports hostels of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority brings pride to Tamil Nadu's sports sector.
