As per the schedule for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions - 2026, confirmation of tentative allotment for the second round was completed yesterday. Permanent allotment orders have been issued to 40,299 candidates who accepted their allotted seats, and tentative allotment orders to 10,648 candidates who accepted their allotted seats while opting for upward movement. Of these, 6,914 candidates from government school background were given permanent allotment orders and 2,647 were given tentative allotment orders, taking the total number of allotment orders issued to 60,508.
Before releasing the allotment orders to candidates, on 06.08.2026, 33 professors from 11 Government Engineering Colleges were invited in person to verify that the allotments were issued strictly on the basis of rank and preference order; this direct verification has been carried out.
Candidates who have received a Tentative allotment order must report in person to the TFC (Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre) specified in their preference, and candidates who have received a Provisional allotment order must report in person to their allotted college, and complete admission by submitting original certificates and paying the tuition fee, between 09.08.2026 and 13.08.2026.
Seats allotted to candidates who fail to submit documents at the TFC or fail to join the college by 13.08.2026 will be automatically (by default) cancelled. These vacated seats will be allotted to candidates awaiting upward movement in the same round (Round-2).
In the Special Counselling and First Round Counselling conducted so far, 28,979 candidates have been issued allotment orders and have taken admission.
In B.Arch counselling, 622 candidates in the general category and 40 candidates under the 7.5% reservation for government school students have been issued allotment orders and have taken admission.

The B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch supplementary counselling, meant for candidates who have passed the +2 supplementary examination and for candidates who did not apply in the general counselling, will accept applications from 17.08.2026 to 31.08.2026, with supplementary counselling to be held from 03.09.2026 to 07.09.2026.
