PRESS RELEASE Today (13.08.2026), the Hon'ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Thiru Po. Sengodaramanan, conducted a surprise inspection at the Fair Price Shop of the T.U.C.S. Ltd. Triplicane Nagar Co-operative Society, operating in the Kannammapettai area of Chennai. During the inspection, the Minister reviewed the stock, quality, weight, and distribution methods of essential commodities supplied to family cardholders at the Fair Price Shop. He further directed that essential commodities be supplied to the public without shortage, in the correct weight and of proper quality, and instructed that a sales receipt must mandatorily be issued whenever goods are supplied. The Minister also inquired from members of the public visiting the Fair Price Shop whether they faced any deficiencies in the supply of goods. Keeping the welfare of the public in mind, he instructed the concerned officials to continuously monitor the functioning of Fair Price Shops, to promptly resolve public grievances, and to provide excellent service.
