Raeli Engineering Plastics: Raeli Engineering Plastics will set up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu for components used in consumer electronics. Daimler, Germany: Germany-based Daimler, which currently manufactures commercial vehicles at the SIPCOT Oragadam Industrial Park in Kanchipuram district, will upgrade its 400-acre manufacturing and research facility at Oragadam for the design, research & development, and manufacturing of commercial vehicles, with an investment of Rs.4,000 crore, creating 400 jobs. Details are as follows: • Invest Kazakhstan will bring a 100-member trade delegation to Tamil Nadu in September 2026 with the aim of promoting bilateral trade and investment. • INZBC, New Zealand, will bring a delegation led by the Mayor of Christchurch to Tamil Nadu in October 2026. • Guidance Tamil Nadu has signed a 3-year MoU with the Idea to Impact Foundation to implement a Walmart expansion project in Tamil Nadu. This will create opportunities for Tamil Nadu's industries in modern trade, e-commerce, and global supply chains. In the first phase, across 9 districts, the skills of local manufacturers will be enhanced and their products connected to national and international markets. These activities will be carried out in the districts of Chennai, Coimbatore, Kanchipuram, Madurai, Salem, Thoothukudi, Tiruppur, Tiruvallur, and Vellore. • TIDCO, in partnership with Bosch Global Software Technologies, will establish a Centre of Excellence for cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies. This will create employment for 10,000 students and technology professionals, support over 500 startups and MSMEs, and generate over 100 high-skilled jobs. • WOWsemi plans to set up a Semiconductor Skilling Academy in Coimbatore. As this marks the first tissue paper manufacturing business in South India, premium tissue papers will be marketed under the brand 'Lumina' in four varieties — facial, napkin, towel, and toilet use — using global technology. This will boost industrial growth and improve livelihoods in the region. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), a world-class Aerospace Park was opened at Vallam Vadagal Industrial Park, Kanchipuram district, at a cost of Rs.250 crore. This park will host key activities of the aerospace and defence sector, including engineering design, avionics manufacturing and repair, advanced prototyping, and defence technology development. The park spans 3,04,000 sq. ft across eight floors, with complete infrastructure facilities. On behalf of SIPCOT, 11 new buildings were opened: an administrative office building of 1,00,320 sq. ft across three floors at a cost of Rs.26 crore; two Flex & Flora buildings spanning 2,36,504 sq. ft at a cost of Rs.51.8 crore; a canteen complex with dining facilities of 22,519 sq. ft at a cost of Rs.8.60 crore; a crèche building of 6,563 sq. ft at a cost of Rs.2.60 crore for the welfare of working mothers; a medical centre building of 6,049 sq. ft at a cost of Rs.2.50 crore; a customs office and security cabin of 1,442 sq. ft at a cost of Rs.90 lakh; and an elegant entrance arch at a cost of Rs.2.45 crore. Further, a skill development centre building at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Madurai Ko. Puthur, was opened at a cost of Rs.1.65 crore, and a food court for workers' use at Vallam Vadagal, Kanchipuram district, was opened at a cost of Rs.19 crore. To meet the accommodation needs of workers employed in factories, a women workers' hostel building was opened in Thoothukudi at a cost of Rs.6.58 crore. Jointly through SIPCOT and TNIFMC, under Tamil Nadu Industrial Workers Housing Private Limited (TNIHPL), a men's hostel accommodating 441 persons was opened at Seiyaru, Tiruvannamalai district, at a cost of Rs.15.77 crore, and a women workers' hostel with modern facilities across three floors, accommodating 870 women workers, was opened at Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli district, at a cost of Rs.39.89 crore.
