PRESS RELEASE Tamil Nadu Housing Board The Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Thiru P. Rajkumar, launched the online sales portal for selling flats and plots available for sale under the Tamil Nadu Housing Board through the Online Allotment Portal. In accordance with the guidance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Thiru P. Rajkumar, launched the online sales portal for the sale of flats/plots of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board through the Online Allotment Portal today (12.08.2026) at the Housing and Urban Development Department Conference Hall, Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai, Chennai. Last year, only 2,630 units of plots and flats were sold electronically through the Tamil Nadu Housing Board. At present, applications are being invited for an unprecedented 7,659 units available for sale across various schemes of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, as follows: (1) 2,842 units through the lottery/draw method starting from 21.08.2026; (2) 2,184 units through the First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) method with proportional reservation, starting from 24.08.2026; and (3) 1,749 units through the Common Pool method — first-come-first-served without proportional reservation — starting from 25.08.2026. Details have been uploaded on the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Online Portal for this purpose. Furthermore, applications can be uploaded starting seven days from today. The public is requested to make use of this intervening period to prepare the following: ❖ User ID and Password for logging into the website ❖ Selecting the desired unit either based on the details available on the website or by visiting the project location directly. ❖ Keeping ready the documents required to be uploaded on the website. ❖ Fixing their bank fund transfer limit in order to be able to pay the booking amount. ❖ Mandatorily complying with the terms and conditions applicable to whichever category they are applying under. In addition, applications for e-auction of 884 commercial units (shops/main commercial spaces and units for general use) ready for sale are being invited through the e-Tender cum e-Auction method from 25.08.2026 to 24.09.2026, via the Tamil Nadu e-Tenders Portal. This transparent initiative of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board greatly increases opportunities for the public to purchase houses and plots, while also ensuring transparency. It is noteworthy that the flats available for sale will be sold this year without any price increase. The public is requested to make full use of this opportunity, apply and/or book through the online sales portal within the stipulated dates, and avail themselves of the housing services of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB).
