Rural Development Minister Anand Reviews Central and State Rural Schemes

PRESS NOTE Hon'ble Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources, Thiru N. Anand, held a review and consultation meeting with senior officials of the Rural Development and Panchayats Department on state government schemes and centrally sponsored schemes implemented with state government contribution. At the meeting, the state government schemes reviewed included the Rural Housing Scheme and infrastructure development schemes such as the All Village Anna Renaissance Scheme, Namakku Naame Scheme (NNT), MLA Development Scheme, School Infrastructure Development Schemes, Village Roads Schemes, NABARD road development works, and centrally sponsored schemes implemented with state contribution such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Jal Jeevan Mission, MP Local Area Development Scheme, and Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural). A detailed review was conducted and the Hon'ble Minister provided guidelines and suggestions for the effective implementation of these schemes. The meeting also discussed rural local administration bodies, the 15th Finance Commission grant, the anticipated 16th Finance Commission grant, and elections to rural local bodies. The meeting was attended by Rural Development and Panchayats Department Additional Chief Secretary Thiru Gagandeep Singh Bedi, IAS, Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Thiru Pa. Ponnaiah, IAS, Commissioner (Training) Dr. Anandakumar, IAS, Director of Social Audit Thiru Gladstone Pushparaj, IAS (Retd.), and all Additional Directors, Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers of the department.
