As the counselling deadline for the 2026-2027 academic year in these ITIs concluded on 14.08.2026, the deadline for direct admissions has been extended up to 31.08.2026 in the interest of students. 95% of trainees from ITIs in recent years have secured placements in leading industrial firms. With expanding industrialisation in Tamil Nadu, demand for skilled personnel is rising, offering monthly salaries ranging from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000. Students joining after 8th/10th standard can also clear Tamil and English language exams to obtain SSLC/HSC equivalent certificates, or enter second-year Polytechnic diploma courses. Government ITIs charge no tuition fees, offer monthly stipends of Rs. 750/- (with an additional Rs. 1,000/- under Pudhumai Penn / Tamil Pudhalvan schemes for eligible government school students), along with free bicycles, uniforms, safety shoes, tool kits, bus passes, and hostel facilities at select centres.
