Joseph Vijay in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly under Rule 110 Increasing the Milk Procurement Price for Milk Producers' Cooperative Societies Hon'ble Speaker, In Tamil Nadu, 34 lakh litres of milk are procured daily from 3.16 lakh milk producers across 8,800 primary milk cooperative societies, with Aavin marketing 31 lakh litres daily to consumers. Presently, for one litre of milk containing 4.3% fat and 8.2% SNF, a procurement price of Rs. 35 plus a state incentive of Rs. 3, totalling Rs. 38 per litre, has been provided since 05.11.2022. Considering the rising feed and labour costs and prioritizing dairy farmers' livelihoods, the government has decided to increase the cooperative society procurement price by Re. 1 and raise the government incentive from Rs. 3 to Rs. 5, enhancing the total procurement price from Rs. 38 to Rs. 41 per litre.
