Joseph Vijay in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly under Rule 110 Regarding Provision of Government Vehicle, Vehicle Allowance, and Assistant Allowance to Members of the Legislative Assembly Hon'ble Speaker, On 12.08.2026, Kattumannarkoil MLA Thiru Jothimani represented that many MLAs from humble economic backgrounds lack personal vehicles to inspect constituency works and serve people transparently without corruption. In line with our governance motto "Governance for the People - On the Path of Honesty!", to ensure legislators can independently, fearlessly, and continuously travel across remote villages and address public grievances without financial distress, the government announces: 1. An official vehicle will be provided by the Government to all Members of the Legislative Assembly. 2. A monthly Vehicle Allowance of Rs. 75,000/- will be provided to cover driver salary, fuel, and vehicle maintenance. 3. A monthly Assistant Allowance of Rs. 25,000/- will be provided to appoint an assistant for constituency and office work.
