Press Release No : 570 Date: 21.08.2026 PRESS RELEASE Health and Family Welfare Department "Thaaimaman Thanga Mothiram Scheme" Under the vision plans approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu chaired by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, under the "Thaaimaman Thanga Mothiram Scheme", gold rings will be presented to honor every child born in Government Hospitals from June 22 onwards, as well as the mother. Following the government order sanctioning 4,41,667 gold rings of 1 gram each, tenders were invited on 14.07.2026 through the TN Tenders Portal, where 11 firms participated. M/s Joyalukkas quoted the lowest rate. As the scheme is slated for official launch on September 15, 2026 (Perarignar Anna's birth anniversary), purchase orders for the required 1,28,499 gold rings for four months from June have been issued to M/s Joyalukkas and M/s Kalyan Jewellers in a 70:30 ratio.
