Inauguration of 130 New Low-Floor Air-Conditioned Electric Buses for MTC: To reduce urban environmental pollution in Chennai, 625 low-floor electric buses procured at a cost of Rs. 697 crore are currently operated through 5 depots. Following this, under the plan to induct 750 new low-floor AC electric buses worth Rs. 1,337 crore across 7 depots, the Chief Minister flagged off the first batch of 130 low-floor AC electric buses procured at a cost of Rs. 234 crore and 50 lakh.
