Kalyanasundaranar, affectionately revered as 'Tamizh Thendral', who simplified and beautified Tamil prose for the common reader, introduced innovative literary expressions, edited pioneering journals like Desabhakthan and Navasakthi, established trade unions in Tamil Nadu, and authored over 55 celebrated works, was born on 26.08.1883 in Thundalam village, Maduravoyal taluk, Chennai. To honor his legacy, on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu, a floral tribute ceremony will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, 26.08.2026, at the Directorate of Tamil Development, Egmore, Chennai.
