Under the National Food Security Act, 2013, the Central Government directed fingerprint-based biometric authentication (eKYC) of all beneficiaries mapped on electronic ration cards to verify credentials under Priority Household (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cards. Ongoing smoothly since October 2023 without public inconvenience, 96.21% of eKYC verification in priority ration cards has been accomplished.
To achieve 100% completion of eKYC records, a special camp will be conducted across all fair price shops in Tamil Nadu on 29.08.2026 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Ration cardholders whose members are yet to complete biometric eKYC registration at their respective fair price shops are requested to utilize this special camp on 29.08.2026 across the state.
