Joseph Vijay today (27.08.2026) inaugurated newly constructed buildings at a total cost of Rs. 164 crore and 64 lakh at the Secretariat, comprising Rs. 127.76 crore for the Police Department and Rs. 36.88 crore for the Fire and Rescue Services Department. Police Infrastructure Inaugurated (Rs. 127.76 Crore): • 400 police & head constable quarters at Perumbakkam, Chengalpattu District (Rs. 121.85 crore). • Harbour Police Station building in Chennai District (Rs. 2.91 crore). • Police Supermarkets at Avadi TSP 5th Battalion and St. Thomas Mount Armed Reserve Complex in Chennai, and Armed Reserve Complex in Kanchipuram (Rs. 1 crore each).
