Joseph Vijay Presented the Nammazhvar Award for the Best Organic Farmer for the Year 2025-2026 to Three Farmers Excelling in Organic Agriculture Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru S. Joseph Vijay today (27.08.2026) at the Secretariat presented the Nammazhvar Awards for Best Organic Farmer for 2025-2026 along with a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh each and medals to Thiru C. Nallasivam, Thiru A. Subramanian, and Tmt. Sadhana on behalf of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department. The award commemorates Dr. G. Nammazhvar's pioneering contributions and honors progressive farmers inspiring others toward sustainable agriculture. Recipients: 1. Thiru C. Nallasivam (Namakkal District): Cultivating sugarcane, sorghum, mango, and vegetables purely using organic inputs for over 4 years, value-adding farm produce, and training over 2,000 farmers. 2. Thiru A. Subramanian (Pudukkottai District): Practicing organic cultivation of traditional paddy varieties, groundnut, black pepper, and coconut for 10 years, creating awareness among 675 farmers. 3. Tmt. Sadhana (Chengalpattu District): Practicing organic farming for 11 years growing pearl millet, ragi, black gram, fruits, and greens with value-added millet/oil processing, training 472 farmers.
