Press Release No : 594 Date: 27.08.2026 PRESS RELEASE Revenue Augmentation Committee Held Consultative Meeting with Trade and Industry Associations, Public Finance Experts, Multilateral Agencies, Academic Institutions, and the Public The Revenue Augmentation Committee, chaired by Thiru Montek Singh Ahluwalia to recommend measures for augmenting the State's Own Tax and Non-Tax revenues on a sustainable basis, held a Consultative Meeting on 27.08.2026 at Chennai. The Chairman noted that sustainable revenue expansion requires widespread stakeholder collaboration, and that ground-level insights and practical experiences shared during the meeting will be examined alongside departmental data. Consultations were also held with domain experts, representatives of multilateral agencies, and academic institutions, while public recommendations received via e-mail will form part of ongoing deliberations.
