Joseph Vijay Visited Puzhal Central Prison to Inspect Basic Amenities and Inquire About Prisoners' Needs Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru S. Joseph Vijay today (28.08.2026) visited Puzhal Central Prison in Chennai to inspect amenities, diet, healthcare facilities, and vocational training centres, and directly interacted with inmates regarding their requirements. During his inspection of Central Prison-1, the Chief Minister reviewed the quarantine facility, visitors' hall, prison hospital, de-addiction rehabilitation centre, classrooms, library, and advanced computer training centre at Mahatma Gandhi Community College, high-security block, and gallows area. He inspected the prison workshop producing vegetable racks, paper envelopes, and office files, as well as the powerloom unit making blankets and tailoring sections, and verified the quality of cooked food served to inmates. Subsequently, the Chief Minister inspected the M-3 Puzhal Police Station, reviewing police station operational registers, sub-inspector rooms, computer systems, and lockup cells.
